Around 22:20 on October 28, a cargo ship belonging to Yichang Honghai Shipping Co., Ltd. capsized about 200 meters north of the Yichang Changjiang Highway Bridge in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Of the 8 crew members, 6 are missing and 2 survived and were rescued.

Yichang, Hubei Province, June 21 (People’s Daily) - Affected by heavy rainfall in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and eastern Sichuan and western Hubei, the flow rate of the Yangtze River in Yichang reached 20,600 cubic meters per second at 9 a.m. on June 21, with a water level of 45.45 meters. The Yichang section of the Yangtze River has entered the main flood season. The Yichang Maritime Safety Administration has activated its flood control plan, and various patrol and rescue bases have increased patrols and day-and-night monitoring to ensure the safe passage of ships through the Three Gorges.
