A cargo ship capsized on the Yichang section of the Yangtze River, with 2 people rescued and 6 missing.

Around 10:20 PM on October 28th, a cargo ship belonging to Yichang Honghai Shipping Co., Ltd. capsized on the north bank of the Yangtze River, approximately 200 meters downstream from the Yichang Yangtze River Highway Bridge in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Of the 8 crew members, 6 are missing and 2 survived and were rescued.
Reporters learned from Yichang City, Hubei Province on the 29th that at around 10:20 PM on the 28th, the Honghai 001, belonging to Yichang Honghai Shipping Co., Ltd., capsized on the north bank of the Yangtze River, approximately 200 meters downstream from the Yichang Yangtze River Highway Bridge in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, while transporting crushed stone from Xiazigou, Yiling District to the Huyaya Sand and Gravel Plant in Bashiating. Following the accident, 2 of the 8 crew members were rescued, and 6 remain missing. As of noon on the 29th, the search and rescue operation for the missing personnel is still underway, and work is ongoing on the treatment of the survivors, investigation into the cause of the accident, and post-accident follow-up.
